"LOOK-UPS" - Look-ups are for information


  • Contained in the Genealogy records (at the present time, there is no Genealogy Library.
       Records are being housed in member's homes) or Museum;

  • Newspaper microfilms for Births, Deaths or Marriages to present, however the newspaper index
       only goes up to 1949; you will need the exact date after that.

  • Obituaries up to the present. (Request from only one of the volunteers)

    Nobody is a "professional researcher" 

    Please request information from only ONE source: (Museum, Historical Society, Genealogy Society, Library or an individual volunteer of Lake County).   This is a very small county and all of the information is kept in the same place, so we all use that same information. With so few volunteers to do look-ups, we hate to use our time duplicating work.

    Understand that the Genealogy records that are available, go from about 1850, to maybe 1950. There is no access to Vital Records in some of this time, although there might be an obituary listed in a Newspaper Index.
